High winds across the UK and northern Europe – BA News

High winds across parts of the UK and northern Europe will affect some of BA’s short-haul and domestic flights on Wednesday 13 September.

For safety reasons National Air Traffic Services (NATS) has to allow greater space between landing aircraft in high winds and this has resulted in a reduced number of aircraft being allowed to land each hour at Heathrow.

BA have reported that they apologise but have confirmed that the poor weather will lead to some delays and disruption to our schedules. BA are doing all that they can to minimise the effect the high winds have on our operations and will use larger aircraft where possible to help affected customers on any cancelled services get to their destinations on alternative flights.
