Travel Industry News Update 19th June 2023

Caroline our Corporate Travel Manager travelled to London recently to experience the new Dundee/Heathrow route operated by Loganair.

Arrived at Dundee Airport at 0630am for the departure of the Loganair flight at 7am. As small as Dundee Airport is it is very well organised with a calm environment. Check in was completed online as I had a small cabin bag, the check in staff were very welcoming, and there is a lovely café for that early start coffee. Proceeding through security is very quick as well as was boarding the plane. We took off on time – the flight was full and service from the cabin staff was very friendly. Overall, it was a wonderful experience to Heathrow. On arrival, which was 15 minutes early, we boarded the shuttle bus to take us to arrivals.  As I was travelling on to Stevenage, I found the underground more convenient as the Piccadilly Line takes you straight to Kings Cross in approx 45minutes. Everything was very well sign posted and with the pay as you go just a tap of your phone or card and that’s you, (just remember to always tap your card on arrival to avoid extra charges), the journey on the Piccadilly Line cost £5.40 straight to Kings Cross to catch any onward trains.

The return journey was just as pleasant.  On arrival at Heathrow Terminal 2, security was very well organised with lots of staff, after which there are many shops and restaurants for you to do a bit of shopping or eat before your flight. The return flight home was on time and just as enjoyable as my earlier trip. Overall, this was a wonderful experience, and I would recommend to all our travellers. Heathrow is great for connections all over the world.

I would like to thank Loganair for having me on board and I will be sure to use this service in the future.
